About the role:
As a Technical Lead you will be ensuring new products are manufacturable to high scale production, whilst developing and applying advanced automation and manufacturing capabilities.
Consideration of high scale assembly requirements at a very early stage will ensure long-term improvement in both the efficiency & quality of the production output.


Your key duties and responsibilities as a Technical Lead:
• Analyzes market and technology demands/trends to assess the feasibility of projects, and recommend suitable technologies, equipment, and advanced methods of manufacturing
• Engage with suppliers on emerging trends in the automation space to bring into the business
• Oversees the introduction of new/modified assembly and test equipment, tools, software and systems – both internal and external manufacture
• The Technical Lead must participate right from the beginning of new product development projects with the purpose to build knowledge on product design and process flow
• Provide specialist Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) inputs to the R&D and process development teams throughout the product design cycle
• Develop recommendations & perform/arrange for test activities / Proof of principle (POP) & scale up equivalence trials alongside R&D Engineering/process development teams, to ensure design can be manufactured and tested at high volume scale
• Leads the development and sourcing of new product equipment/technology, responsible for ensuring delivery of User Requirement Specifications (URS) through to design, installation and validation of the equipment
• Evaluate and propose vendors of equipment/technology, ensuring associated contracts, agreements in place, including development of capital approval requests / purchase orders
• Delegate tasks to Advanced Operations engineering teams on projects, as required
• Input into equipment and process validation strategies, guide validation approaches, and provide line side engineering support during validation
• Provide specialist guidance to processing/technical issues & troubleshooting throughout project
• Direct, Steer and support more junior engineering team members, in terms of technical expectations, delivery and success
• Establish and ensures alignment to engineering standards and ensure proper completion of technical documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively and partner up with key business functions, such as R&D , Manufacturing, Global engineering, Procurement, Supply chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Global Marketing
• Develop and continually refresh world-class manufacturing/automation strategies that enables strategic plan delivery
